Abstract The collection includes photographs of John Wallace Winborne's student days at Horner Military Academy in Oxford, N.C.; the University of North Carolina; and Bingham School in Asheville, N.C. John Wallace Winborne (1884-1966), was a white graduate of the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, N.C., and a justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court.Also included are group or composite photographs of the North Carolina Supreme Court for several years, an autographed photograph of North Carolina Governor J. Melville Broughton, and a photographic album containing portraits of the 1906 senior class at the University of North Carolina.

John Wallace Winborne (1884-1966), was a graduate of the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill and a justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court. Winborne was a native of Chowan County, N.C., but spent most of his life at Marion in McDowell County, N.C.
