William Randolph McEntire (fl. 1861-1866), perhaps of Buncombe County, N.C., was a Confederate prisoner of war at Johnson's Island Prison, Ohio.

The collection consists of miscellaneous items, including one letter, 1863, from McEntire at Johnson's Island Prison, Ohio, to a friend, describing his religious experiences; a typed transcription of a poem written by Asa Hartz in Johnson's Island Prison; and two letters to McEntire from his sister in North Carolina.
